The Monkey stars Theo James in a dual role as twin siblings named Hal and Bill. Tatiana Maslany co-stars as Lois, the protagonists’ mother who passes away in a 1999 timeline from a brain aneurysm. The storyline follows Hal and Bill as they reunite after 25 years apart to strategize against a killer toy monkey. Composer Edo Van Breemen (Afflicted) scored the 98-minute film; music supervisor Natasha Duprey (Heretic) picked the featured needle-drops. - “Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani” by Amitabh Bachchan, Sharad Kumar and Asha Bhosle (00:00:00): The Monkey soundtrack song scores the opening sequence. Petey Shelborn (Adam Scott) brings a wind-up toy monkey to a pawn shop. Music plays faintly from a speaker system.
- “Let the Good Times Roll” by Shirley & Lee (00:04:00): Hal narrates about his father passing on a “secret horror.” The Monkey music kicks in during the title sequence. Hal introduces himself and his twin sibling, Bill, via narration.
- “You Made Me Love You (I Didn’t Want to Do It)” by Harry James (00:05:00): Young Hal (Christian Convery) fantasizes about killing Young Bill (Convery). The track sets in during a transition sequence. Lois dances with a grey-haired gentleman as Hal narrates about her.
