Jakob Oftebro (Kon-Tiki) co-stars as Nylund, a lieutenant who leads a crucial military mission. Caroline trusts her instincts but doesn’t quite understand the bigger picture and how it connects to her missing child. The storyline follows six soldiers as they skate across a lake with technology that could save or end the world. Musically, two needle-drop tunes bookend the narrative. • “Five Years” by David Bowie (00:00:00): Caroline listens to a radio report in her vehicle. The Black Crab soundtrack song plays as she changes the station. Vanja (Stella Marcimain Klintberg) inquires about the radio report, specifically the news about local violence. Caroline changes the subject and recalls her grandmother selecting the karaoke song during a past trip to Copenhagen. Bowie’s lyrics foreshadow the destruction of Earth. The Black Crab soundtrack song fades as masked men kill citizens, shortly before the title card appears onscreen.
• “Stay Dead” by Dead People (01:46:00): Caroline makes the ultimate sacrifice. Nylund watches from the safety of a helicopter; the track plays as he sits in silence.
