Drive My Car stars Hidetoshi Nishijima as Yūsuke Kafuku, a widower who prepares for an Uncle Vanya adaptation in Hiroshima. Tōko Miura co-stars as Misaki Watari, the protagonist’s personal chauffeur who values her driving skills. The storyline explores the friendship between the lead characters as they reflect about life, death and what keeps them moving forward. Composer Eiko Ishibashi (Mugen no jûnin: Immortal) scored the 179-minute film, which includes orchestral music and and a needle-drop tune from a legendary American jazz musician.
