First Blood stars Sylvester Stallone as Rambo, a Vietnam War veteran with Special Forces experience. Richard Crenna co-stars as Trautman, a U.S. Army colonel and the protagonistโs mentor. The storyline follows Rambo as he finds trouble in Hope, Washington after being confronted by a local sheriff. Composer Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen) scored the 93-minute film; music supervisor Bruce Botnick (uncredited) selected the featured needle-drops. First Blood Soundtrack: Every Song in the 1982 Movie
- “It’s a Long Road” by Dan Hill (01:29:00): The First Blood soundtrack song is featured at the end of the film. First, Rambo breaks down while speaking with his U.S. Army mentor, Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna). He recalls traumatic experiences from the Vietnam War. Rambo tears up and says, “Sometimes I wake up and don’t know where I am.” Trautman comforts the protagonist after a series of violent events. A transition sequence begins. Trautman escorts Rambo out of a building. Moments later, the First Blood music sets in. Rambo walks alongside Trautman as the credits sequence begins. The movie officially ends on a freeze-frame of the protagonist. The track scores the film’s final moments and continues through the end credits.
