“At six episodes, ‘Parish’ isn’t quite satisfying. It’s hard to say if it’s too long or not long enough. Maybe it’s the muggy American gothic New Orleans locations that made me err on the side of wishing it were longer.”
“‘Better Call Saul’ is ultimately an interesting case study of adjacency that points to a more sustainable prequel model that television in general might wish to use in future.”
“As it’s proven in its previous episodes, ‘Preacher’ is not a show that markets in hope, and all that Jesse has left in his wake so far is a boy sent to Hell, a lost church, broken relationships and a dead dog.”
“Viewers surely know that it’s not God behind Jesse’s powers, and ‘Preacher’ is about to unveil what evils Jesse will allow himself in order to save his land, and his life.”
“With most of the series’ major villains now in play, if not all, it’s only a matter of time before Annville becomes the ‘Monster Swamp’ Root so fears.”
“Don Draper is clearly experiencing some type of reawakening, and he can’t jump from a New York City skyscraper if he doesn’t go back. Next week’s episode of Mad Men is titled ‘The Milk and Honey Route’ — a reference to life as a hobo.”
Four episodes in, FOX’s Gracepoint continues to reel me in with outstanding visuals, excellent pacing and perhaps the best all-around cast on television.
