Malignant Soundtrack - Every Song in James Wan's 2021 Movie

  • “When Your Walls Fall” by Celldweller (00:04:00): Young Gabriel wilds out in the opening sequence. Dr. Florence Weaver (Jacqueline McKenzie) dramatically states “It’s time to cut out the cancer” —  a line that teases the campy nature of the film. The Malignant soundtrack song scores the opening credits and also a prison sequence at 01:32:00, in which Gabriel attacks a police officer with an inmate’s body.
  • “Where Is My Mind” by Safari Riot (00:28:00): A cover of the 1988 Pixies classic that is used as a musical motif throughout Malignant. It’s first heard when Sydney (Maddie Hasson) learns that Maddie was adopted. “Where Is My Mind” plays four minutes later when Serena May (Jean Louisa Kelly) gets tied up by Gabriel. “Where Is My Mind” can be heard again at 1:13:50 when Maddie’s birth mother falls from an attic.
  • “Your Painted Smile” by Bryan Ferry (00:34:00): Dr. Weaver looks at her files. The Malignant soundtrack song continues as Maddie organizes laundry items. As the lights flicker, the music cuts in and out.
  • “Nighthunter” by Panic Priest (00:49:00): The synth-heavy music scores the sequence when Maddie and company arrive at the Silvercup building. Sydney offers to help investigate and then gazes at Detective Shaw (George Young). The Malignant soundtrack song fades as Detective Regina Moss (Michole Briana White) yells at her colleague.
