Kate follows a female assassin who plans to retire after a 12-year career. She investigates a Yakuza crime family after a failed last mission in Tokyo, and befriends a teenage girl who seems destined for a life on the streets. Cedric Nicolas-Troyan’s Netflix film builds to a violent final act in which the female protagonists square off against manipulative men. Character Profile: An assassin known as “Seasonal.” She fails for the first time during her final mission after being poisoned the night before. With only 24 hours left to live, Kate rescues the daughter of a former mark, and tries to find out who arranged for her death.

Character Profile: The daughter of a Japanese man killed by Kate in Osaka. She’s tracked down by Winstead’s character because of her familial connection to the Kijima clan; however, it’s revealed that members of the crew want to officially end the young girl’s family’s bloodline by killing her. Ani initially clashes with Kate but eventually teams up with her against various baddies.

Kate eventually tracks down Stephen, who admits that he intended to roofie her but didn’t realize her drink included poison (Polonium-204).
