Frida Kahlo Makes Her Debut in Manila

Sixty works by famed Mexican artists are now on display at Manila’s Ayala Museum through November 9. The exhibition, “Mexico: Fantastic Identity, 20th Century Masterpieces,” features Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and David Alfaro Siqueiros.

Organized to inspire the young artists of Manila, the Ayala’s display offers a chance to see Frida Kahlo’s 1933 painting, My Dress Hangs There. The piece, created during a trip to New York City, expresses the icon’s perspective on Mexican culture and the technological advancements of the United States.
